Softball Game Preview: Chippewa Valley Big Reds vs. Adams Highlanders

The Chippewa Valley Big Reds will head out to square off against the Adams Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chippewa Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Adams will be coming in after a loss.

Chippewa Valley was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fraser, sneaking past 4-3.

Miley Austin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had over her last six games. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Austin wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Frankie Goodrich, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Sam Mondalek was another, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Adams came up short against Oxford on Tuesday and fell 8-5. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chippewa Valley's record now sits at 6-7. As for Adams, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
