Football Recap: Del Norte Knights vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers
Del Norte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Albuquerque Academy Chargers 56-6. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2017.
William Braun went supernova for Albuquerque Academy, throwing for 327 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. A healthy portion of that aerial production (93 yards to be exact) went to Finn Thompson.
Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Albuquerque Academy, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Del Norte will host Manzano at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Albuquerque Academy, they will welcome Hope Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
