DeSoto dropped down to 12-15 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Festus Tigers, falling 11-3. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

DeSoto saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Weber, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Another was Brenton Drummond, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Festus, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Festus' side, Gunner Wilson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Henry Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Beers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

While DeSoto had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
