Basketball Game Preview: Stall Warriors vs. North Charleston Cougars

The Stall Warriors will face off against the North Charleston Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Stall: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while North Charleston has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Stall is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Hanahan with points to spare last Tuesday, taking the game 60-45. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their 25-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, North Charleston came up short against James Island on Tuesday and fell 57-49. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Stall will have to keep a close watch on Richard Hazel III and Marco Simpson, a pair of players who had a big impact on North Charleston's prior game. Hazel III posted 13 points and eight rebounds, while Simpson went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points. Hazel III continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Jordan, who had four points and three steals.

North Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Stall, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Stall came up short against North Charleston when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 75-71. Can Stall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
