Volleyball Recap: Beatrice Comes Up Short

Beatrice lost against Battle Creek back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Orangemen fell 2-0 to the Braves.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9.

Claire Trusty paced Beatrice's offense, picking up three kills. Trusty got some help from Kiley Hatcliff and her seven assists.

Battle Creek was led to victory by Ava Kuchar and Jaidyn Smutny. Kuchar had four digs and four aces, while Smutny had 11 digs. What's more, Kuchar racked up 14 assists, the most she's had over her last four matches.

Beatrice's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Battle Creek, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Beatrice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Malcolm on the 18th. As for Battle Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Pierce on the 16th.
