Softball Recap: San Ramon Valley Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact San Ramon Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Casa Grande Gauchos by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gauchos earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Lila McLeod spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

With the defeat, San Ramon Valley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8-2. As for Casa Grande, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5-1.

San Ramon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Casa Grande, they will challenge Livermore at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Gauchos surely won't give up without a fight.
