Cooper had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 7-14-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Beechwood Tigers by a score of 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Beechwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

For Beechwood's part, Austin Stephenson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Carlisle, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Carson Welch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coming up, Cooper will welcome Scott at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Beechwood, they will venture away from home to take on Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
