Basketball Recap: Liana Salamone's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ethel Walker over Suffield Academy

Ethel Walker was the 46-45 winner over Suffield Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Ethel Walker fell 55-46 to the Suffield Academy Tigers on Friday. Ethel Walker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Ethel Walker players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liana Salamone, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Salamone has become a key player for Ethel Walker: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least eight boards, but 3-4 otherwise. Taelor Arnold was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Even though they lost, Ethel Walker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Ethel Walker's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Ethel Walker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-45 loss against Choate Rosemary Hall School on the 25th.
