Football Recap: Gore Takes a Loss

Gore had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it nine. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Allen Mustangs. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

As for Allen, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Allen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quinton Box, who rushed for 73 yards and one score on only seven carries, and also threw for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven passes. Box also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making 11 total tackles and defending one pass. Noah Bray was another key back, rushing for 120 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

Gore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Allen, they will challenge Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
