Basketball Game Preview: Loomis Wolves vs. Ansley/Litchfield Spartans

The Loomis Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 15 defeats in a row, Loomis turned things around against Gibbon on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Buffaloes 60-33. The Wolves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Ansley/Litchfield didn't have too much trouble with Sumner-Eddyville-Miller on Tuesday as they won 53-38. The Spartans pushed the score to 47-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Ansley/Litchfield's win came from a few key players Loomis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caydence Feldman, who posted 15 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerry M Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Ansley/Litchfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Loomis' victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. As for Ansley/Litchfield, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.

Loomis came up short against Ansley/Litchfield in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 42-32. Can Loomis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
