Baseball Recap: Valders Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Valders kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Southern Door Eagles by a score of 7-6. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Carter Valleskey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Starr, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Valders and Southern Door will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings are set to square off against their familiar foe Sheboygan Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southern Door will challenge rival Algoma at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
