 The West Lafayette Red Devils will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Northwestern Tigers at 6:00  p.m. The pair are strolling into their  games after big wins in their previous games.
 West Lafayette will head into Tuesday's  matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they only won by two when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run they dealt Rensselaer Central on Tuesday. West Lafayette blew past Rensselaer Central 12-6. That looming  12-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Lafayette yet this  season.

 Northwestern got a big performance out of  Cam Davis, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eastin Whaley, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 West Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Northwestern, their win  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 9-6.
 West Lafayette was able to grind out a solid  victory over Northwestern in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023, winning  6-3. Does  West Lafayette have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwestern turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
