Volleyball Recap: Douglas County West Takes a Loss

Douglas County West lost against Raymond Central back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcon fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Falcon have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Douglas County West sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 27-25.

Their offense was headlined by Jetta Sattem and Kinley Nelson, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Newbauer and her 19 assists. Amelia North controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Douglas County West now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Raymond Central, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Douglas County West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 4th. As for Raymond Central, they will be playing at home against Louisville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
