Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Patriots vs. St. Francis Mariners
There's no place like home for the Heritage Christian Patriots, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They breezed by St. Francis at home to the tune of 79-43 on Friday. With Heritage Christian ahead 33-13 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Morgan Bluhm was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six assists and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lyndsay Laakso, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Heritage Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for St. Francis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Heritage Christian will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Francis, they and the Hilltoppers will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Catholic Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
