Burlington had won three straight games and Scout Humrich did his part to make it four on Friday. The Cougars claimed a resounding 52-23 win over the Denver Christian Thunder for which the team can thank Humrich, who rushed for 138 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Jason Saucedo also helped out as he racked up 170 rushing yards. Saucedo is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 144 every time he's taken the field this season.

Denver Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pete Smith, who rushed for 70 yards and one score. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.

Burlington's record is now 4-0. As for Denver Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Burlington and Denver Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars are set to face off against their familiar foe Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Denver Christian will challenge rival Platte Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
