Blackstone-Millville suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Blackstone-Millville Chargers vs. Sutton Sammies

The Blackstone-Millville Chargers lost against the Sutton Sammies on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blackstone-Millville fell 53-44 to Sutton.

Blackstone-Millville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ousman Touray, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Touray's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Logan McCourt was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Sutton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cam Benedict led the charge by scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Marchand, who scored 13 points.

Blackstone-Millville dropped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sutton, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackstone-Millville will take on Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Nipmuc Regional presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blackstone-Millville in Massachusetts (Nipmuc Regional is ranked 90th, while Blackstone-Millville is ranked 245th). As for Sutton, they will head out on the road to take on Whitinsville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
