Baseball Recap: Jennings County Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Jennings County had lost nine games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 8-11 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Columbus East Olympians by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 two weeks ago.

As for Columbus East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

For Columbus East's part, they got a good showing from Ryker Stott, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stott has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aiden Bumbalough made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That run was his first of the season.

Looking ahead, Jennings County will welcome Beech Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus East, they will venture away from home to face off against New Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
