Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Windber

Windber proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Meyersdale Red Raiders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ramblers have posted against the Red Raiders since September 29, 2020.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Windber got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-10.

Taylor Dzurko paced Windber's offense, picking up 11 kills. Dzurko got some help from Liliana Grillo and her 28 assists. Amber Dunmyer and Adelynn Slatcoff kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

The win (which was Windber's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. As for Meyersdale, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Windber will venture away from home to challenge Tussey Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meyersdale, they will face off against Southern Fulton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
