Hazelwood Central has gone 8-0-1 against Riverview Gardens recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Julius Reed made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off three hits. He has become a key player for Hazelwood Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 4-5 otherwise. Reed was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Caleb Robinson was incredible, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Hazelwood Central is undefeated when Robinson posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Robert Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Riverview Gardens hadn't done well against Jennings recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams skirted past the Warriors 11-10.
Riverview Gardens got a big performance out of Logan Washam, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hill, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Riverview Gardens' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Hazelwood Central, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hazelwood Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .506. However, it's not like Riverview Gardens struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
