Soccer Recap: American Heritage Takes a Loss

American Heritage and North Broward Prep squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but American Heritage had to settle for second. They came up short against the North Broward Prep Eagles, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Eagles are ranked 32nd).

Lily Trier and Francesca Carbone scored both of American Heritage's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

American Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season. As for North Broward Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2-2.

American Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Broward Prep, they will square off against Somerset Academy - Canyons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Broward Prep knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Somerset Academy - Canyons likes a good challenge.
