Basketball Recap: South Lamar Stallions vs. Hubbertville Lions

South Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hubbertville Lions, falling 54-33. The Stallions lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-9 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hubbertville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Kate Curington, who went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points plus seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Tucker, who had 11 points plus three steals.

South Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hubbertville, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lamar will square off against Fayette County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hubbertville, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hubbertville Lions take on the Hackleburg Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Hubbertville's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hackleburg has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
