Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Pacifica's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pacifica can now relate to. They fell just short of the South Spartans by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tritons have suffered since March 19th.

Alex Villicana was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Pacifica saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devon Wilkes, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Pacifica moved to 21-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for South, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-13 record this season.

Pacifica does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South, they will head out to take on Ganesha at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Giants will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
