Basketball Game Preview: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Bertrand Vikings

Kenesaw is 6-1 against Bertrand since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Kenesaw Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bertrand Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kenesaw is returning to their home court after beating Red Cloud on theirs, despite the fact Red Cloud has dominated at home this season. Kenesaw secured a 56-52 W over Red Cloud on Tuesday.

Adam Denkert and Maddox Wagoner were among the main playmakers for Kenesaw as the former posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals and the latter scored 15 points. Denkert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jravin Suck, who put up four points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Bertrand had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 70-43 victory over the Warriors. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Warriors are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bertrand pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Kenesaw, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
