Baseball Recap: Haleyville Falls Short of Hokes Bluff in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Haleyville can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hokes Bluff Eagles by a score of 8-7 on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Will McCullar made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Haleyville's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-8. As for Hokes Bluff, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haleyville beat the Eagles by a score of 8-4 later that day.
