Preview: Tahoma Bears vs. Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons
Tahoma has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tahoma knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pacifica Christian/Orange County likes a good challenge.
Even though Kentwood scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Tahoma still came out on top. Tahoma secured a 64-60 W over Kentwood.
Tahoma's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dalton Brown, who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Tahoma's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Stephens, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Pacifica Christian/Orange County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 71-51 loss at the hands of JSerra Catholic. While losing is never fun, Pacifica Christian/Orange County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while JSerra Catholic is ranked second).
Their wins bumped Tahoma to 2-1 and Kentwood to 4-1.
