Baseball Recap: Sankofa Freedom Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

Sankofa Freedom Academy proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Simon Gratz Bulldogs 3-2. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

The win (which was Sankofa Freedom Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Simon Gratz, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Sankofa Freedom Academy will head out to square off against Hill Freedman World Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Simon Gratz, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Dobbins-Randolph Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m.
