Basketball Game Preview: Wilmington Wildcats vs. Reed-Custer Comets

The Wilmington Wildcats will head out to square off against the Reed-Custer Comets at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wilmington will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Westmont, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Wilmington was the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over Westmont on Saturday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reed-Custer). They enjoyed a cozy 76-61 victory over Lisle on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wilmington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Reed-Custer, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-13.

Wilmington beat Reed-Custer 42-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Does Wilmington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reed-Custer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
