Basketball Recap: North Iowa Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Bend-Mallard last Thursday, North Iowa came back down to earth. The North Iowa Bison took a 68-51 bruising from the Belmond-Klemme Broncos on Friday. The Bison were probably out for revenge after losing 64-49 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North Iowa dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Belmond-Klemme, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3.

North Iowa and Belmond-Klemme could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. North Iowa (ranked 161st) will meet Bishop Garrigan (ranked seventh) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Belmond-Klemme will take on Forest City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 89 places (104 vs. 15).
