Basketball Game Preview: Homestead Mustangs vs. Santa Clara Bruins

The Homestead Mustangs will take on the Santa Clara Bruins at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Homestead is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Last Wednesday, Homestead beat Fremont 42-32. The 42-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 63-43 to Saratoga. The Bruins have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Santa Clara's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Homestead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Homestead against Santa Clara in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-34 win. Will Homestead repeat their success, or does Santa Clara have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
