Volleyball Game Preview: Lafayette Lancers vs. Marquette Mustangs

Lafayette has gone 9-1 against Marquette recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Lafayette will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Lafayette had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Lindbergh on Wednesday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Flyers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-19, 25-9.

Aubrey Dumstorff and Addy Wiese were among the main playmakers for Lafayette as the former had 18 digs and three assists and the latter had 16 digs and six assists. That's the most digs Dumstorff has posted since back in November of 2024. Alexa Hastings also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Meanwhile, Marquette beat Grain Valley 2-0 on Saturday.

Marquette's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Lafayette, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Lafayette took their win against Marquette in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
