Preview: Simi Valley vs. Taft
Simi Valley will challenge Taft on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. The match looks good for Simi Valley since they are the big favorites in the MaxPreps state rankings.
Everything went Simi Valley's way against Thousand Oaks last week as they made off with a 43-14 victory. No one had a better game by the numbers than senior Jackson Sterling, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 327 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Sterling's 78-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Taft took a serious blow against Agoura, falling 0-48. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Simi Valley's win lifted them to 2-1 while Taft's loss dropped them down to 0-3. We'll find out if Simi Valley can add another positive mark to their record or if Taft can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Simi Valley's step.
