Football Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Pleasant can now relate to. They lost 42-16 to the Milan Bulldogs on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this contest were averaging 11.17 points allowed.

Although Mt. Pleasant took the loss, they still got scores from Jayden McClure and Payton Niehaus.

Jaydon Peete had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 242 yards and three scores on only 15 carries for Milan. Peete's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. Zak Summers was another key player, throwing for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Milan, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.

Mt. Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milan, they will take on East Nashville Magnet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
