Softball Recap: Jarrell Triumphs

Jarrell was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Cleburne Yellowjackets 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 22, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Caryn Reser, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she's launched this season. Hannah Sybert was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Jarrell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Jarrell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6-1. As for Cleburne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Jarrell has already played their next match, a 7-7 draw against Bosqueville on the 22nd. As for Cleburne, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
