Basalt hadn't done well against Cedaredge recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 27-25.

Tahlia Ferguson paced Basalt's offense, picking up nine kills. Ferguson got some help from Lilly Archibeque and her 22 assists. Ferguson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Cedaredge still got an impressive performance from Neveah Erickson, who had 15 digs.

The win got Basalt back to even at 2-2. As for Cedaredge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Basalt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Vail Mountain on the 16th. As for Cedaredge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Aspen on the 18th.
