Volleyball Recap: Cypress Park Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Cypress Park faced off against Cypress Springs on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

While Cypress Park was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-9.

Cypress Springs was led to victory by Alyssa Suarez and Shanae Clarke. Suarez had 11 digs and two aces, while Clarke had 12 digs. That's the most digs Suarez has posted since back in September. Paityn Goodwin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cypress Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-26. As for Cypress Springs, their win ended a seven-match drought at home and bumped them up to 12-27.

Cypress Park and Cypress Springs could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 940th) will meet Cypress Woods (ranked 77th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cypress Springs will take on Waller at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (712 vs. 194).
