Softball Recap: Opelika Drops Season-High Score on Lafayette

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Opelika). Everything went their way against LaFayette on Tuesday as they made off with a 31-0 victory. Considering Opelika has won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Opelika's third in a row) raised their record to 17-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 25.0 runs over those games. As for LaFayette, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Opelika does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for LaFayette, they will venture away from home to face off against Bullock County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
