Basketball Recap: Columbus Victorious

Columbus won the last time they faced Baxter Springs, and Katy Mooney did her part to make sure it happened again. The Columbus Titans were the clear victor by a 42-22 margin over the Baxter Springs Lions on Friday thanks in part to Mooney, who posted 18 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Columbus' points.

Natalie Wary was another key player, putting up six points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Baxter Springs, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Columbus has already played their next matchup, a 44-36 loss against Southeast on the 25th. As for Baxter Springs, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Mary's-Colgan at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
