Softball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Largo's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Largo unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Dunedin Falcons by a score of 5-3. The Packers were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Laila Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Mia Kabakov was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Largo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Dunedin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Largo will challenge Hollins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Largo will need to watch out since Hollins has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Dunedin, they will square off against Gulf at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
