Preview: Richland Springs Coyotes vs. Rochelle Hornets
Richland Springs is 8-0 against Rochelle since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Richland Springs Coyotes will head out on the road to square off against the Rochelle Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Richland Springs has 11 straight wins, Rochelle has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Richland Springs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lometa 77-30 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Richland Springs had established a 32 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richland Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Sutherland, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Sutherland has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Womack, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Rochelle came up short against Brookesmith two weeks ago and fell 46-37.
Richland Springs pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rochelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for Richland Springs against Rochelle when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 77-36 victory. With Richland Springs ahead 46-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
