Volleyball Recap: Gabrielino's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Gabrielino suffered their biggest loss since March 6th on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Rosemead Panthers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Gabrielino was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-18, 25-13.

Leading Rosemead to victory were Vincent Pham and Zijia Daniel Lu. Pham had 11 assists and four digs, while Lu hit 57.1% for 16 kills and 14 digs, three aces, and one block. Lu is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season. Jason Lu also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Gabrielino's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for Rosemead, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Gabrielino didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against El Monte on the 28th. As for Rosemead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Marshall on the 3rd.
