Volleyball Recap: Dimond Takes Down Ranked Barrow

Dimond faced Barrow in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lynx walked away with a 2-0 win over the Whalers. The victory was familiar territory for the Lynx, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Dimond easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-8.

Nia Cook paced Dimond's offense, picking up five kills. Cook got some help from Puao Asailevai and her six assists. Asailevai was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 24-9-1. As for Barrow, their loss dropped their record down to 30-10-3.

Coincidentally, Dimond and Barrow will both be playing Mountain City Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Whalers will head out to face the Lions at 4:50 p.m. on Friday, while the Lynx will play them later in the day, at 7:35 p.m.
