Basketball Game Preview: Buena Colts vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros

Buena is 1-6 against Flowing Wells since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Buena Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Buena came up short against Amphitheater and fell 44-32.

Meanwhile, Flowing Wells beat Cienega 60-49 on Friday. The Caballeros pushed the score to 60-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Buena better keep an eye on Nevaeh Urenda. She was instrumental in Flowing Wells' win, going 11 of 27 on her way to 25 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Urenda is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season. Allison Verdugo was another key player, putting up eight points.

Flowing Wells smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Flowing Wells has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
