Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. McCollum Cowboys
Harlandale is 7-1 against McCollum since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Harlandale Indians will be playing at home against the McCollum Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Harlandale beat Jefferson 47-34.
Harlandale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Saucedo, who threw for 331 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Palomino, who picked up 214 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, McCollum's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-13 victory over Brackenridge at home. Considering McCollum has won three matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Their wins bumped Harlandale to 6-3 and McCollum to 5-4.
Harlandale came up short against McCollum in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 27-20. Can Harlandale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
