Basketball Game Preview: Fryeburg Raiders vs. Westbrook Blue Blazes

The Fryeburg Raiders and the Westbrook Blue Blazes will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Fryeburg came up short against Noble and fell 71-60. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Knights are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Westbrook had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Mt. Ararat by a score of 67-56 on Saturday. The Blue Blazes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Fryeburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Westbrook, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Fryeburg came up short against Westbrook in their previous meeting back in January, falling 41-31. Can Fryeburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
