Volleyball Recap: Streamwood's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Streamwood lost against South Elgin back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sabres fell just short of the Storm by a score of 2-1.

Streamwood started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Alexander Paz paced Streamwood's offense, picking up 12 kills. Paz got some help from John Garcia and his 24 assists. Finally, Ian Rivera kept Streamwood's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

South Elgin was led to victory by Brady Melvin and Tyler Aluquin. Melvin had 23 digs and seven assists, while Aluquin had 16 assists and five digs. That's the most digs Aluquin has posted since back in March.

Streamwood's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9. As for South Elgin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Streamwood will head out to take on St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Elgin, they will venture away from home to challenge Bartlett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
