The Southside Christian Warriors will take on the Scotland Christian Academy Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Southside Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Living Water Christian 19-6 on Friday. With that win, Southside Christian brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Jackson Simmons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
In other batting news, Southside Christian let Landon Pourron and Jason Burke run wild. Pourron scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Burke scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Burke a new career-high. Zeke Ragan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Southside Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Living Water Christian struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Scotland Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 22-3 victory. The match marked the Saints' most dominant win of the season.
James Sheffield was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadin Mintar, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Scotland Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Southside Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Southside Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Scotland Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
