Basketball Game Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Foothill Falcons

Basic hasn't had much luck against Foothill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Basic Wolves will challenge the Foothill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Basic will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Canyon Springs, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Basic skirted past Canyon Springs 52-49.

Basic's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamilyah (Star) Williams, who posted 21 points along with six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Mia Frias, who had 16 points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Foothill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Miners with points to spare, taking the game 56-42.

Basic's record is now 9-6. As for Foothill, their record now sits at 5-10.

Basic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Foothill when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Basic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
