Basketball Recap: Schenectady Takes a Loss

Schenectady was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 70-14 loss at the hands of the Ballston Spa Scotties. The Patriots lost against the Scotties in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 62-38 score last time.

Ballston Spa can attribute much of their success to Mallory Sprissler, who posted seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Bowens, who earned nine points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Schenectady's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Ballston Spa, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Schenectady will be playing in front of their home fans against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Schenectady is facing Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at the right time seeing as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Ballston Spa, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Niskayuna at 6:00 p.m. Niskayuna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.
