Basha came into Wednesday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Chandler Wolves by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. Basha got a great performance from Tyler Jensen as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Jensen a new career-high.
At the plate, Chase Chanley was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Basha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chandler only posted a batting average of .174.
Basha's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 9-13-1. As for Chandler, they moved to 11-11-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Basha will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
