Baseball Recap: Basha Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Basha came into Wednesday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Chandler Wolves by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Basha got a great performance from Tyler Jensen as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Jensen a new career-high.

At the plate, Chase Chanley was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Basha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chandler only posted a batting average of .174.

Basha's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 9-13-1. As for Chandler, they moved to 11-11-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Basha will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
