Volleyball Recap: ARC Academy Gets the Win

The ARC Academy Warriors beat the Word of God Academy Force 3-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

While ARC Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Word of God Academy scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Word of God Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kallie Pizarro had 22 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Pizarro is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game.

ARC Academy has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Word of God Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

ARC Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ascension Classical at 6:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Word of God Academy, they will welcome Lake Area HomeSchool Sports at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
